We experienced a major problem with Cubase Video player. When activated (F8) Cubase would lock up. The video was black, Cubase became unresponsive.
The problem was to do with the "Nahimic" service that was preinstalled on our Windows/Asus computer. Nahimic is an audio driver software provided by A-Volute for gaming software. While it can apparently improve audio quality, it can conflict with other software.
To disable Nahimic... type in "services" in your task bar search and open the Service manager.
Look for Nahimic service... double click and disable it.
